Zooming off to Europe

The Castle!

Stu and Rita with the travelling Wasabe!

Then it was off on an 80's style aircraft back when maximizing space wasn't the primary objective. The bathroom was big
and had a window!

A window that had a blind, just in case you were worried someone would see you at 35,000 ft (or on the tarmac as the
case may be...)

A Finnish lunch of beer, bread, tomatoes (from Holland) and Finlandia cheese!

Doesn't get any better than that!

Helsinki, the only stop on our trip with less than perfect weather.

Ferrying out of Helsinki Harbour in a ship slightly smaller than the one in the background.

Our ship had a pub/nightclub that was packed by 3pm with people drinking (cheaply) and dancing to Europe's greatest Schlager
hits.

We sailed into Tallinn

Mediaeval Estonia

The Wall still surrounds the old town

But then it was off to Schoenefeld

Lins at our hotel with a beautiful view of Charlottenburg S-Bahnhof

Alex, ausgedeckt wie ein Fussball

Schon Wieder!

Lins cozies up to Marx. The visual transition from a sitting Marx to a standing Engels is supposed to represent the rise and
progress of the German Democratic Republic's form of Socialism. The statute was installed in 1986, three years
before the Wall fell.

The Palast is coming down...this is where the the Hammer und Zirkel had hung.

Our time in Berlin was short because we had to catch a train

...and another train...

...yet another...

...and another...

...train number 5...

..but there was time for lunch...

...no points for guessing what it was...

...as we boarded another train...

...and another...

...and we caught another train in Bamberg, but not without stopping for an hour for Kaffeetrinken with Caro and Ben...

And our ninth and final train got us to Stuttgart.

Bubi und Karin

Lenne und Brillo

Prost!

Und auf dem Flugzeug nach England

To Londontown!

Our hotel in London...pretty spiffy, eh...I leave you to judge this book by its cover and spare you my horror stories.

Beers (and strange expressions) with Ian!
